Story

Show how recording a UI bug in Screen Recording gives Claude Code and Codex access to the timed transcript, click and shortcut log, window history, and rendered frames over the local MCP server.

Scene 1. Record the reproduction once (0:00–0:14)

  • On screen. Screen Recording starts a Window capture of a checkout app. The user applies a discount code, clicks Pay, and talks through the bug as the spinner hangs and the developer console logs a 500 error on the checkout request.
  • Narration. "Record the bug once while talking through what looks wrong. Screen Recording transcribes your voice on your Mac and logs every click, shortcut, and active window."
  • Capture notes. Zoom toward the 500 error line in the console as it appears.

Scene 2. Cover sensitive tokens in Private Details (0:14–0:25)

  • On screen. In the editor, the user opens Private Details, clicks Find, and clicks Cover next to a staging API token in the console so it is masked before any agent reads the recording.
  • Narration. "Cover any token or customer email in Private Details. Every cover applies to agent reads and rendered frames too."
  • Capture notes. Show the token redacted in the transcript, action log, and video frame.

Scene 3. Connect Claude Code over MCP (0:25–0:42)

  • On screen. In Claude Code, the user asks to fix the checkout hang from the latest recording. Screen Recording's approval panel appears, the user approves access, and Claude Code inspects the transcript, action log, bug report steps, and a cropped frame of the 500 console error before patching the handler.
  • Narration. "Over the local MCP server, Claude Code and Codex read your transcript, click log, steps, and high-resolution frames directly."
  • Capture notes. Show the MCP tool calls completing in the terminal.

Scene 4. Verify the fix (0:42–0:50)

  • On screen. Closing view with the patched checkout flow succeeding and the Screen Recording app icon.
  • Narration. "Show your coding agent the recording and let it inspect the evidence on your Mac."
  • Capture notes. End on a dark-mode frame of the editor and terminal side by side.
