Screen Recording

Private by design

Screen Recording is local-only software. There is no server side.

Recordings stay on your Mac

Recording writes ordinary video files to your disk. Nothing uploads unless you share it, and when you do share, the recording goes to your iCloud account, storage you already own and control. We never hold your content, because we operate no servers that could hold it.

Screen recordings are sensitive by nature. They show your inbox, your customer data, and your unreleased work. A recorder that uploads everything by default makes every recording a data-handling decision. Screen Recording removes that decision, because it has no server side.

Transcription runs on device

The speech model that powers transcript editing and captions runs on your Mac. Your voice never leaves your computer. There is no per-minute transcription quota, because there is no transcription service.

No account

There is nothing to sign up for and no profile of you to keep. Download the app and record. Sharing links uses the iCloud account already on your Mac.

Works offline

Recording, transcription, editing, and MP4 export all work with no internet connection. Record on a plane, in a lab, or on a network where uploading recordings isn't allowed. Only sharing a link needs connectivity, because that's the step you use iCloud for.
