Features

Screen Recording records your screen, transcribes it on your Mac, and lets you edit the video by editing the transcript.

  • Record the screen, a window, or an area. Full screen, one window, or an area you draw, with microphone and system audio on separate tracks, at your display's full resolution and 60 fps. Choose from live pictures of every display, window and camera and the level of every microphone, start and stop with a keyboard shortcut, pause and resume, and see a level meter for each sound you record.
  • Edit by transcript. The recording is transcribed on your Mac as you record. Delete a sentence to cut it from the video, review and remove filler words together, tighten silences, and get a title, summary, and chapters generated on device.
  • Zoom, backgrounds, and the cursor. Zooms on your clicks that you can move and adjust, a gradient or color background in 16:9, square, or vertical, and a cursor you can hide, enlarge, or smooth after you record.
  • Camera and captions. A movable camera bubble, and captions that are generated on your Mac and follow your edits.
  • Share an MP4 or export a file. Share an MP4 with AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or any service in the macOS share menu, copy it to paste anywhere, drag it out of the card that appears when you stop, or export an MP4 or a GIF.
  • Privacy. Recordings, audio, and transcripts stay on your Mac until you share them. We operate no content servers.

Camera and captions

Add a camera bubble you can move and resize at any time. Captions are generated on your Mac, follow every edit, and can be burned into exports or saved as SRT or VTT.

Zoom, backgrounds, and a cursor you set after recording

Screen Recording zooms in on your clicks, puts the recording on a background in 16:9, square, or vertical, and draws the cursor so you can hide, enlarge, or smooth it after you record.

Record the screen, a window, or an area in 4K and up

Capture the full screen, one window, or an area you draw, with microphone and system audio on separate tracks, at your display's full resolution and 60 fps. Start from a keyboard shortcut, pause and resume, and decide how clicks, keystrokes, and the cursor look after you record.

Share an MP4 or export a file

Click Share and the macOS share menu sends a recording as an MP4 with AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or any other service, copies it to paste anywhere, or exports an MP4 or a GIF. Drag it out of the card that appears when you stop. The file plays anywhere, with no viewer account.
