Hero Overview (hero-overview, 50s)

Story

Show both paths that make Screen Recording different on Mac. First, capture a real app window with separate microphone and system audio tracks, stop, and see the after-recording overlay card ready to drag or copy an MP4 immediately. Second, click Open in Editor on that card to cut a fumbled sentence and an unwanted click in the transcript, watch automatic click zooms and Private Details clean up the frame, and flip to the Steps tab to copy an illustrated guide.

Scene 1. Capture Window and Audio (0:00–0:09)

  • On screen. The Screen Recording capture bar sits over a macOS workspace. The user picks Window mode, selects a live code review window, verifies the separate Microphone and System Audio meters, and clicks Record.
  • Narration. "Pick a display, a single window, or a custom area. Screen Recording captures your microphone, system audio, camera, and every click on separate tracks."
  • Capture notes. Show a child popover menu opening inside the recorded window so it is clear child menus stay in frame.

Scene 2. Fast Overlay Card or Open Editor (0:09–0:17)

  • On screen. With Settings › After recording set to Show overlay, the user clicks Stop in the menu bar. The after-recording overlay card appears in the corner with Open in Editor, Copy MP4, and More (⋯) buttons. The pointer hovers over Copy MP4, then clicks Open in Editor.
  • Narration. "When you stop, drag or copy a finished MP4 straight from the overlay card, or open the editor when the take needs a closer look."
  • Capture notes. Keep the transition from the overlay card into the editor window crisp and immediate.

Scene 3. Cut Words and Action Chips (0:17–0:28)

  • On screen. Inside the editor, the transcript shows spoken words alongside inline screen action chips ([Clicked Settings], [Pressed Cmd+K]). The user selects a fumbled sentence and a stray click chip, presses Delete, and clicks Clean Up Speech.
  • Narration. "Edit the recording by editing text. Delete a fumbled sentence or an inline click chip, and Clean Up Speech strips filler words while protecting every action on screen."
  • Capture notes. Highlight the 10 ms audio fades across the cut on the waveform and the timeline closing the gap smoothly.

Scene 4. Automatic Zooms and Private Details (0:28–0:39)

  • On screen. Playback glides into an automatic click zoom on a dialog box with smoothed cursor motion and a corner camera bubble. The user opens Private Details, clicks Find, and clicks Cover beside a customer email and account name across a scrolling table.
  • Narration. "Automatic click zooms and cursor smoothing frame what matters, while Private Details finds and covers sensitive text across scrolling and zooms."
  • Capture notes. Show the frosted blur tracking the email column smoothly as the table scrolls and the camera zooms out.

Scene 5. Steps Tab and Final Export (0:39–0:50)

  • On screen. The user switches to the Steps tab, revealing numbered instructions with rendered Retina step pictures and click focus rings, then opens Export File showing 4K MP4, GIF, ProRes, and Final Cut Pro XML options.
  • Narration. "Turn the same recording into an illustrated guide in the Steps tab, connect Claude Code over MCP, or export up to 4K 60 fps. Screen Recording for Mac."
  • Capture notes. End on a clean hero lockup of the editor canvas and the Screen Recording app icon.
